WHAT IS GRAB MY ROCK?
'So Joshua called together the twelve men he had chosen—one from each of the tribes of Israel. He told them, “Go into the middle of the Jordan, in front of the Ark of the Lord your God. Each of you must pick up one stone and carry it out on your shoulder—twelve stones in all, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel. We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the Lord ’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.” ' Joshua 4:4-7
READY TO GRAB YOUR ROCK AND TELL YOUR STORY?
WHAT IS “GRAB MY ROCK”?
Based on the Scripture above, simply put, we are learning to tell our story. In Joshua, each leader grabbed a rock to build a memorial so that the story of the miracle of that would be passed on to all generations. We want to help one another remember and be able to succinctly share our miracle — our Jesus story — whenever the Lord gives us the opportunity.
Sometimes thinking about the mandate to share The Gospel is intimidating. We don't "feel" like evangelists. But doing life with others, giving them the reason for our "why" is sharing the Good News of Jesus!
Our Pastor defines the Gospel simply: "Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead." Because Jesus did this for us, we can share it.
Psalm 107:2 says, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!" If you have been redeemed, your life in Christ is an example of the Gospel played out. There is no need to make it harder than it is.
When we define our story, our Jesus-story, we remember Who He is, who we are in Him and what He has done for us. It is life-changing to embrace this way of living, for us and for those around us.
Before we can begin sharing it with others, we have to embrace our own Jesus story. Sometimes we need to remember why we began this journey with Him.
