Glen
I joined the Navy at 17 and sailed all around the world. I was introduced to drugs and alcohol and continued that lifestyle when I was discharged. I got hired on at Fischer Body and became friends with some guys who also used drugs and drank a lot. We became pretty tight.
I would like to share with you about these 5 guys.
The first guy, my best friend, overdosed on drugs and died in his mother’s arms.
The second guy, a motorcycle rider, had the fastest bike and would show off quite a bit. He hit a semi trailer truck going 120 mph. He died instantly.
The third guy, who I grew up with and bowled with, liked to drink a lot. After we bowled we would all be drunk and high. One night on his way home, he hit a telephone pole. They were unable to get him out of his car and he bled to death.
The fourth guy, our drug dealer, was sitting at the bar. His nephew came in and shot him in the chest, killing him.
The fifth guy had his family leave him because he chose drugs and alcohol over everything. His death was different than the other four. He died to sin and was born again. He was made a new creation through Christ Jesus, his Lord. He chose to live a Christ like life style. He served God faithfully and became a deacon and became a missionary to Mexico for twenty years.
This is the hope of Christ Jesus for you. He will forgive you. All you have to do is ask.
Glen
